This is our shop car Project Freight Train. A 1999 Chevy Camaro Z28 M6. Car has been purchased as a roller with no motor and no tranny. The plans call for a build thread right here on our site. We are going to be placing a 12:1 414" Gen III/IV series motor, L92 heads, Solid (and we plan on running a Hydraulic Roller as well) Roller cam, Victor Jr intake, and a 1050 Dominator carb with Nitrous. We will also convert over to Fuel Injection after we get the chassis and nitrous sorted out. Backing up the motor will be an in-house Morris Motorsports built T56 and a Dana 60, running "stock" suspension. We are also in the middle of doing a full 25.2 Chassis for Freight Train, all done in house. Freight Train will be a "small tire" car, running both the 28x10.5" slicks, and will also set the car up for Drag Radial classes.Follow along with us and check back often for updates......

414" Bullet
July 10, 2009:
The day we picked up Freight Train, and unloading at the shop.
414" with L92 Heads and T&D Shaft Rockers Stand:
Starting the tear down:
Everything that is not necessary will be eliminated....Sound deadening material, extra wiring, speakers, radio, AC/Heat, bumpers, emissions equipment, etc...
Gutting the doors, converting from power windows and locks to manual, as well as removing safety bracing:
Sheetmetal for missing HVAC in place and primed
Mad Man universal motor plate being mocked up for install:
Few "tricks" that Morris Motorsports is applying to Project Freight Train...We are putting a removeable transmission tunnel in place, for ease of maintenance between rounds. We are also installing a removeable upper core support, for ease of motor removal. So, instead of having to drop motor out from the bottom, which is next to impossible at the track on race day, the removeable upper core support, will allow us to yank motor from above with no hassle.
Upper Core Support has been removed in this shot:
This shot shows the upper core support cut out, and end caps welded up, as well as the fasteners in place for our new and removeable upper core support:
Stock trans tunnel removed:
....well guys, so far, we have been able to pull out over 400 LBS by yanking the speakers, amp, sway bar, foglights, cruise control, spare tire, tire tool, jack, HVAC Box, Air Bag, rear seats, inner plastic fender panels, emissions equipment, heat shields, un-used brackets, bolts, 1 of the horns (FBody cars are equipped with 2), washer reservoir and pump, front and rear bumpers, sound deadening material under the carpet, metal inner fenders, and anything else that we can get rid of that is "unneccessary" for the Freight Train!
